Rinku Singh's Uttar Pradesh will play their final group match of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 against leaders Vidarbha in Vizianagaram on January 3, 2025. Uttar Pradesh have three wins, one no result and one defeat while Vidarbha have kept a perfect win record, four in four. After an opening day washout (vs J&K), UP beat Mizoram, then lost to Tamil Nadu. But back-to-back wins against Chhattisgarh and Chandigarh have revived their campaign.

They need to beat Vidarbha to stand a chance to make the knock-outs. Conversely, Karun Nair's Vidarbha are in a relatively stronger position considering their final group match is against minnows Mizoram in the final round.

Tamil Nadu, the most successful team in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, also have two matches remaining, against Mizoram and Chhattisgarh, and the five-time champions will start favourites in both outings. They have two wins, one no result and a defeat.

Chandigarh, currently, fourth will have a rest day. They face Jammu and Kashmir in the final of the group stage on Sunday.

Chhattisgarh vs Jammu and Kashmir at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam;

Uttar Pradesh vs Vidarbha at Vizzy Stadium, Vizianagaram;

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 Format

38 teams in India's premier List A competition have been divided into five groups, of eight teams (A, B and C), and seven teams (D and E) each.

After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will progress to the knock-outs with the top five group winners automatically qualifying for the quarter-finals.

Japan also began their campaign with a 5-5 draw against Korea but has since struggled to secure a win. They lost their second game 5-1 to India and followed that with a 2-1 defeat against Pakistan.

On the other hand, South Korea secured their first win of the tournament with a 3-2 victory over China. Goals from Hyeonhong, Junghoo, and Jihun (55') clinched the win for their side.

They will be joined by the best team among the second-ranked teams in the last eight. The other four second-ranked teams will play in the pre-quarterfinals with the winners completing the quarter-final line-up.

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 Live Streaming And Telecast Details

The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 group stage matches will not be telecast on TV or streamed online. The knockout matches, however, will be streamed live and telecast on JioCinema and Sports18 channels, respectively.

The knockouts will begin on January 9, 2025, with preliminary quarter-finals. The final is scheduled for January 19. All knockout matches will be played in Vadodara.
